چکیده

Background: Distal Femur fractures are a highly incident complex case and pose challenge to the treatingorthopedician.Aims Objectives: The aims objectives of this study were assess radiological union distal femoralfractures by open reduction internal fixation with locking compression plate, To functionaloutcome for end femur Locking Compression Plate Toevaluate effectiveness complications treated CompressionPlate based on, time till union, rate infection, failures, functional outcome using NEER’S SCORE.Materials Methods: present was done from April 2017 2018 which comprised offifteen patients closed Femoral Fractures who where plate.Overall final assessed in terms clinical assessment regaining lostknee function Score. Results: Out 15 patients, 12 males 3 females.Out 14 due toRTA. Maximum number cases Muller type C2-60%. Internal considered after patientsgeneral medical condition stabilized. average operative 90 minutes. size plate wasselected on fracture. 6 10 hole used most commonly. Of 10(66.66%)showed within 16 weeks. 9 (60%) achieved weight bearing at 14weeks. Average flexion 100 degree more than (20%) having knee range ofmotion 110 degree. 1 Patient had stiff knee. More 80% extensor lag less 5degree. 2 VARUS MALALIGNMENT out patients. Results according SCORE wereExcellent 20% Good 60% , Satisfactory 6.6% unsatisfactory 13.3% patients. hadsuperficial infection patient delayed union. Conclusion: is an optimal tool femoral fractures. It provides rigidfixation region femur, wide canal, thin cortices frequently poor bone stock make fixationdifficult.

Is Distal Femur Locking Plate a Superior Implant in Distal Femur Fracture?

In spite of advances in techniques and improvements in surgical implants, confusion still prevails regarding use of specific implants in distal femur fracture. Fractures in the distal femur have posed considerable therapeutic challenges throughout the history of fracture treatment. Most of these surgical failures were due to inadequate fixation of the fracture fragments. The Aim of the study is...

Comparative study of management of distal femoral fractures managed by dynamic condylar screw and distal femoral locking compression plate

Background:Distal femoral fractures are much less common than hip fractures and account for 7% of all femoral fractures. Distal femoral fractures are difficult to treat and ideal treatment of such fractures will include anatomical reduction, rigid fixation of articular surfaces and early mobilization of knee joint. Our study aims to compare the outcome of fifty distal femoral fractures which we...

A Pitfall in Fixation of Distal Humeral Fractures with Pre-Contoured Locking Compression Plate

Anatomically precontoured locking plates are intended to facilitate the fixation of articular fractures and particularly those associated with osteoporosis. Fractures of the distal humerus are relatively uncommon injuries where operative intervention can be exceptionally challenging. The distal humeral trochlea provides a very narrow anatomical window through which to pass a fixed-angle locking...

Minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis using a locking compression plate for distal femoral fractures.

PURPOSE To evaluate treatment outcomes of minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO) for distal femoral fractures in 31 patients. METHODS 22 male and 9 female consecutive patients aged 21 to 65 (mean, 42) years underwent minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis using a locking compression plate (LCP) for distal femoral fractures. The causes of injury were vehicular accidents (n=24), falls ...

Reverse distal femoral locking compression plate a salvage option in nonunion of proximal femoral fractures

BACKGROUND When primary fixation of proximal femoral fractures with implants fails, revision osteosynthesis may be challenging. Tracts of previous implants and remaining insufficient bone stock in the proximal femur pose unique problems for the treatment. Intramedullary implants like proximal femoral nail (PFN) or surface implants like Dynamic Condylar Screw (DCS) are few of the described impla...
